The ASAP Storage facility of Lehigh Acres was designed by architect Patrick Pilot of Pilot Architects and built by Walter Crawford of Heatherwood Construction Company. Patrick Pilot designed the storage facility in a fortress style design with the rear of the storage units facing the street. ASAP Storage opened in May of 2004 featuring 431 units and over 70,000 square feet of climate controlled and non-climate controlled units.
The facade rear of the storage facility is faced with stucco which lets the storage facility blend into the surrounding buildings. The landscaping of this storage facility may be confused with a botanical garden. The numerous palm trees and plush vegetation along the property line provide a transition from the bustling main boulevard to the storage facility. The storage facility has 4 channel letter signs on the side of the building, 1 pole sign and 1 box sign on the front of the office. This extra signage helps the property draw traffic that passes Lee Boulevard that has a traffic count of more than 25,000 cars a day.
The storage facility features two access points for traffic. The main entrance/exit is off Lee Boulevard which is the main thoroughfare through Lehigh Acres; the second entrance/exit is on the rear of the property which exits to 4th street and can be easily navigated back to the Lee Boulevard. The facility also features a 35’ driveway width between storage buildings that make it accessible for large trucks, RV’s and semi-trailers. Both gates provide easy entrance and exit to incoming and outbound customers.
Over 16 cameras located throughout property provide a state of the art security system that captures your every move. The cameras are linked through the internet so the developer, regional manager or partners can view the property through an internet connection from their home or office. The camera images are displayed on a 42” plasma flat screen monitor in the front office with a 15” plasma flat screen monitor displaying the graphics monitor of all open, delinquent or available units. Each door is individually door alarmed so the managers are notified when a tenant enters the property or if door alarm is triggered from unauthorized access where then the managers can go back to the alarmed unit to make sure the correct tenant is accessing the storage unit. Inside the office the managers enjoy a luxurious office, separate break room and 2 restrooms.
Another draw of this facility is the self-serve kiosk where customers can rent units and pay their storage bill 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This state of the art technology is 1st class and lets customers pay and rent units at their convenience. If a customer is having a problem with the kiosk they can pick up the attached customer service phone and instantly be connected to an operator. Soon the kiosk will be multi-lingual and handle the ability to operate in Spanish as well as English.
